To all number 1 fathers in the world

A little simple doodle made in windows paint by me to go with the article.
I actually used to own a dress like this when I was 5 years young.

So I am a day late in some sort of way. Well that is for some who day fathers day yesterday or even earlier this year... but I am also early for some other countries in the world. So in a way writing this blog post today is perfectly alright.

I kind of was thinking of the subject based on a chat yesterday. A young woman in the United States told that she had baked a cake for fathers day and how her father and grandfather both got tshirts with the text "Number 1 dad~!" So it partly also got a reference for my top doodle up here although I call mine papa because that is usual here in the Netherlands.
A young man replied; "Lies! My father is the best dad in the world."
To which I replied; "I believe all good fathers deserve the title number 1 dad."
And so it is true. Since I do believe that every single person reading this blog post who has a good, loving and caring father (figure) will nod and think to them selfs "Yes my father/papa/daddy/[fill in father figure] is the best father in the world."
I also realise it sadly doesn't apply to all people in the world. Some aren't so lucky as most people with their fathers... or some fathers reading want to be good fathers, but can't because the children live to far away or some silly reason that the ex doesn't allow it eventhough they actually aren't bad fathers. Oh I could go on in all sorts of cathegories and situations since the world population is so big.
It does mean there are many great fathers or (soon) great fathers to be... or the wonderful fathers of the past who have left this world already but left a big cosy feeling of love in the world in the hearts of their loved ones.

Here in my household fathers day was a little bit more simple. Being grown up my mother already tells us a few years, "Well now that you are grown up you kids take care of the gifts by yourselfs." Now don't think we never made doodles and drawings or little craft works for our dear papa like many children do. I just mean our mama (who isn't less wonderful, but this article is for the fathers today) would always buy a little bit of aftershave or a nice soap, some favourite sweets for him along with that.
Well this year I just asked my father well do you have any special wishes? He mentioned wanting a bicycle computer. I am not sure if in English this term is right, but he wanted something where he could see things like how many kilometer he travels on his bicycle rides through the city.
So I found him one on one while shopping. I also looked at reviews and what I read was positive so I hope it will be a good product for him too... since in all honesty I have no clue what sort of bicycle computer is good...
It was the only thing he got yesterday. No cakes no sweets... although is that bad? I don't think so since it's always good to have some random options open to surprise your loved ones with when they least expect it. That doesn't make baking cakes or little special quirks for fathers day less special. So to the people who love to do this; Please keep doing so~! I'm sure it makes all our dear fathers happy, fluffy, and melt on the inside.

How did or do you celebrate fathers day?
